Flamenco is to Andalusia as tea is to Britain. An Andalusian tradition dating back centuries, it has permeated into local customs and mores. Influencing many aspects of life and traditions of southern Spain, it is now a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
With a wide variety of types and subgenres, Flamenco can be expressed through el Toque (the guitar), el Cante (the song), and el Baile (the dance). The art can express a large array of emotions: comfort, romance, enjoyment, melancholy. There is a flamenco for all moods and tastes.
As part of this lesson, we will analyse a short extract from a movie and engage in conversations.
