Booking lessons

In order to book a lesson, you can do the following:

  1. Find a lesson you want to book in the Explore page
  2. On the lesson page click on the Book button

If you are not already signed in, you will be asked to sign in or to make an account.

To join a lesson that you have already booked, do the following:

  1. Go to your home page
  2. Select the booked lesson that you want to join
  3. Click on the Zoom link

This will automatically open the Zoom lesson. The teacher will let you in.

To cancel a booking, do the following:

  1. Go to your home page
  2. Select the booked lesson that you want to cancel
  3. Click on the button Update attendance
  4. Click on the button Cancel Booking

Your booking will be cancelled, and you will receive a confirmation email

Attending lessons

Casa Spanish lessons are given via the Zoom application. You can download it here: https://zoom.us/download

Once Zoom is properly installed, you can check everything works well by joining a test meeting.

With Zoom installed, the lesson will automatically start when you click on the lesson link. You can test your Zoom installation here.

What is required for the lesson:

  • Enable your video camera. The teacher will need to see you.
  • Enable your audio. So that you can talk with the teacher and the other students.
  • Speakers or headphones. You will need to listen to the lesson. It is highly recommended to use headphones during an online lesson.

Sometimes Students have difficulties with using Zoom. Make sure you are using the latest version.

Membership and Billing

Casa Spanish is a membership subscription. In other words it's just like a gym: you pay a monthly subscription and you can access the services at any time.

A couple of things to note:

  • Your subscription will repeat on the day of the month when you signed up. So if you signed up on the 15th of the month, it will repeat every month on the 15th.
  • Your subscription will continue unless you cancel it.
  • You can manage your subscription from the billing page

You billing information can be updated from the billing page.

Here is what you can do:

  • View receipts
  • Update card
  • Cancel subscription

You can cancel your membership by visiting the billing page and by clicking on the Cancel subscription button.

When you cancel your subscription, your membership will remain active until the end of your billing period, but you will not be charged anymore.

You can still view your follow-ups inside the Casa Spanish platform. If you wish to reactivate your membership, you can do so from the billing page

Other

On the platform students have the option to leave a comment and engage with their teachers and fellow students.

  1. From the Home page of your Casa Spanish account click on My Past Lessons
  2. Choose the lesson
  3. Scroll down to Discussion.
  4. Add your comment.
  5. When someone answers, you will get a notification shown on the bell icon at the top right of the window.

After each lesson your teacher will provide a follow-up covering any grammar, vocabulary or interesting information that was mentioned during class.

You will get this follow-up by email but it will also be archived on the platform. You can access the follow-up following these steps:

  1. From the Home page of your Casa Spanish account click on My Past Lessons
  2. Choose the lesson
  3. Scroll down and click on Follow Up next to Introduction
  4. The follow up of that past lesson will be displayed

Sometimes email account servers do not recognise a new sender and then it archives its messages in a folder called "spam". We always respond to emails in the first 24 hrs of having received it.
